Jamati.com is looking for a Fashion/Style Managing Editor to focus on our Style and Lifestyle sections. The Section Editor is responsible for being the end-all-be-all of fashion, and has or will build the extensive Rolodex of market contacts to prove it. The Fashion/Style Editor knows all the latest designers and industry leaders and how to translate their cutting edge vision into great features, interviews and reviews on Jamati.com. The Incumbent must have blogging/Web skills in addition to magazine editorial chops.

Jamati.com seeks a reporter/research assistant.. This job primarily involves gathering news, tracking newswires, arranging interviews, conducting background research, creating scrapbooks of news clips, and transcribing interviews. the position will include exciting opportunities to travel to major news events, interview celebrities, cover the entertainment industry, and report on major entertainment and sporting events. Applicants must be fluent in English. Those who also know French will be strongly preferred.

Jamati.com seeks an Associate Editor who will maintain the high quality and relevance of its Web site and blogs. Ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of and interest in Africa and entertainment. S/he has experience managing a Web site or blog, with working knowledge of content management systems such as Word Press and and a basic knowledge of search engine optimization. The ideal candidate also has editing experience, and is incredibly detail-oriented. S/he works well with writers (both staffers and freelancers) and other editors to craft high-quality Web content that is timely and widely read.
The Associate Editor is supervised by the Editor in Chief. This position is a part time telecommuting postion, is currently un-paid except for performance bonuses and is for the up and coming writer or Journalist that is interested in experience with a reputable company and team.

Freelance Writers
Jamati Online is looking for student to freelance writers who are interested in our topics and have published before or can provide writing samples that convey talent. Events Intern – Jamati.com/Jamati.Fr
As the Events intern, you will get guidance from the Marketing department with a primary focus on finding and logging key industry and market events around the world. You may also be asked to maintain some key company databases.
This internship is for the individual who is interested in Online Marketing therefore familiarity with, and basic understanding of how traffic is generated on our portals. The Web Designer will work with the lead creative strategist and Webmaster for Diaspora Interactive Media’s online presence and new media technologies. S/he will learn how to develop a comprehensive Internet and multimedia strategy in collaboration with DIM Corps management team to establish and maintain a rich interactive experience for DIM Corp. audiences through its Web sites and e-newsletters.

Responsibilities:
Design and publish Web pages for multiple brands
Develop multimedia components for the Web site, including photographs, audio and video.

Research, develop and implement search engine optimization (SEO) strategies, social networking opportunities (such as Facebook, Flickr and blogs) and other digital tools and technologies.

Successful candidates will be capable of performing research to identify targets, engage in “cold-calling” and have the ability to establish and cultivate business relationships with executives, team members and potential partners.
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated success working in the professional services sector with public relations experience working with Fortune 500 companies. Exceptional communication skills are required. We are looking for energetic candidates who are solution-oriented, self-motivated, highly driven and determined goal setters.
